UPDATE – 6:45pm ET
Lou Williams OUT. Austin Rivers probable. River should see around 35 minutes with a little more usage now that Lou is out.
Kevin Love OUT. Larry Nance and Jeff Green should see reasonable minutes. Green can be considered in all formats.
LeBron James will be limited. He will likely be pulled after scoring ten points. Obviously rule him out for DFS purposes. It’s difficult to trust the Cleveland rotation, as we aren’t sure who will play what minutes tonight.
Terry Rozier, Jayson Tatum, & Al Horford OUT. Marcus Morris doubtful. Jonathan Gibson emerges as a nice value pick. Greg Monroe and Aron Baynes will see a boost as well, jumping as borderline cash playable. Shane Larkin and Abdel Nadar are now value fillers.
Dario Saric probable. We still like Ersan Ilyasova even in the wake of this news.
DJ Augustin, Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vucevic with minutes limits. Stay away from them tonight. Mario Hezonja is a beneficiary in the wake of this news, but he’s still only a borderline GPP Play with all the value tonight.
Eric Gordon questionable. This makes Gerald Green a stronger play, especially if Gordon and the other regulars play less minutes.
Lonzo Ball & Brandon Ingram OUT. Kyle Kuzma highly questionable. This should keep Josh Hart in the DFS picture with heavy minutes and usage.
INJURY REPORT – 1:10pm ET
UPDATE will come at 7:00pm ET. Games start at 8:00pm ET tonight, so the update will come closer to 7:00 ET.
FanDuel not including three late games on main slate. Utah-Portland, Houston-Sacramento, and Lakers-Clippers are not on FD main slate. They are included on DraftKings and Yahoo.
Giannis Antetkounmpo will play. The Bucks have incentive to win and this is a competitive matchup against Philadelphia, making Giannis a worthy expenditure.
Goran Dragic doubtful. This helps Dwyane Wade and Tyler Johnson see more playing time and usage. Wade makes for a nice value on FanDuel.
Dario Saric questionable. If he’s out, Ersan Ilyasova and Robert Covington will pick up the slack.
Andre Drummond doubtful. Eric Moreland should see plenty of work in the frontcourt with Griffin and Drummond sitting.
Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram questionable. There’s a good chance all three of them won’t play again, which would boost Josh Hart.
John Wall doubtful. Tomas Satoransky will benefit the most. Bradley Beal could see an uptick, but his minutes may be curbed as well.
Austin Rivers & Lou Williams questionable. Take note that Milos Teodosic and Jawun Evans are already out. If Rivers and Lou join them, Tyrone Wallace and Sindarius Thornwell will run the show.
Otto Porter Jr questionable. John Wall is already doubtful, so there’s a good chance Porter sits out as well. Kelly Oubre Jr is a nice value play assuming Porter rests.
These players will continue to miss time: Joel Embiid, Blake Griffin, Denzel Valentine, Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, Tim Hadaway Jr, Enes Kanter, Marc Gasol, Tyreke Evans, Marcus Smart, Kyrie Irving
*We will provide an injury update with updated sample lineups one hour before lineups lock*
Russell Westbrook (OKC): There’s enough value to comfortably roster Russell Westbrook, and you should make that a priority when assembling lineups. RWB needs 16 rebounds to average a triple-double on the season, so you better believe he’ll be keying on that. The matchup is fantastic against a decimated Grizzlies backcourt, and OKC needs the win for seeding.
Jeff Teague (MIN): This is an elimination game for the Wolves and Nuggets. Teague has come up big lately with back-to-back 47+ FP performances, and he’ll see plenty of minutes to get there again. Denver plays up in pace relative to Minnesota, and they rank 25th vs PGs.
Tomas Satoransky (WAS): John Wall is doubtful tonight, and hints have been dropped as to scaling back Bradley Beal. That leaves Satoransky to pick up the slack in Washington’s backcourt, and he’s cheap enough to feel confident in his ability to return value.
o Additional Notes:
heavy minutes in this pseudo-elimination game … Reggie Jackson (DET) is a sneaky-good mid-range pick who will pick up a ton of usage with Drummond, Griffin, and others doubtful tonight. You can look to him through all formats, assuming he won’t have any restrictions himself.
Jrue Holiday (NO): This Pelicans-Spurs game is one of the few competitive matchups with important seeding implications. It makes sense to look towards the red-hot likes of Jrue Holiday, who will likely be force-fed plenty of minutes despite a below average matchup.
Will Barton (DEN): Siding with players who will see secure minutes, Will Barton certainly fits the bill in tonight’s most important game of the night at Minnesota. Barton has been integral in Denver’s run towards the postseason, averaging 39 FPPG over his past five.
Dwyane Wade (MIA): Goran Dragic has been ruled out, which really helps D-Wade secure more playing time and usage. We view him as a nice SG2 on FanDuel.
o Additional Notes:
D’Angelo Russell (BKN) is a GPP Pick, but only that because we aren’t sure about the Nets rotation without anything to play for … CJ McCollum (POR) isn’t on FanDuel’s slate, but we like him everywhere else as Portland-Utah has strong seeding implications to secure minutes for starters on both sides … Luke Kennard (DET) is priced appropriately on FanDuel, but he’s really cheap on DK at just $4.3k. He has posted 33 FP in back-to-back outings with the Pistons beat-up, and he’ll likely carry a similar role tonight.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL): Giannis is playing tonight, and we can assume he’ll resume his regular workload in an important game for seeding purposes. He’s a worthwhile spend considering that notion, and LeBron James may get caught in a blowout.
Robert Covington (PHI): The Sixers need to win; Joel Embiid is out; Dario Saric is questionable. It all adds up to Robert Covington potentially coming through with another strong performance, and he’s very much on our radar this evening.
Kelly Oubre Jr (WAS): John Wall is doubtful and Otto Porter is highly questionable. We are thinking Porter sits or doesn’t play much, which would force Oubre into heavy minutes as a solid value commodity through all formats on all sites.
o Additional Notes:
LeBron James (CLE) has a great matchup in a game the Cavs need to win, but there’s severe blowout risk vs a beat-up Knicks team. LBJ is a GPP only because of that … MarShon Brooks (MEM) and Dillon Brooks (MEM) have noticed spikes in salary, but they are both on the table (as secondary DFS picks) for the shorthanded Grizzlies … Allen Crabbe (BKN) came up big for the Nets last game, and he’ll have another opportunity with Joe Harris and DeMarre Carroll out. He’s a fine GPP Pick who is borderline cash playable
Nikola Mirotic (NO): Mirotic has been flexing extreme upside lately, hitting 50+ FP in three straight games. The Pelicans will keep feeding him minutes as they are playing for seeding tonight vs San Antonio. Even though the matchup isn’t great, Mirotic’s upside, minutes, and mid-range salary makes for a nice lift through all formats.
Ersan Ilyasova (PHI): Dario Saric left early yesterday, and he’s considered questionable. We believe you can safely look towards Ilyasova for mid-range value either way. He has played a key role with Joel Embiid out (still the case) even when Saric suits up. There’s nice upside if Saric is out/limited.
o Additional Notes:
LaMarcus Aldridge (SA) and Anthony Davis (NO) will go head-to-head in a competitive matchup between two teams that are playing for seeding. They both make for fine acquisitions if you have the cap space to make them work. However, the myriad of value at the position makes them non-essential expeditures … Eric Moreland (DET) is cheap on DraftKings, looking to fill in with Drummond and Griffin doubtful. You can look to him through all formats over there … To that same point, Zhou Qi (HOU) will look to pick up 20-25 minutes for Houston tonight. He’s minimum salary on DK, worth a look in this fine matchup at Sacramento.
Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) or Nikola Jokic (DEN): The center position comes down to KAT vs Jokic in this head-to-head matchup to make the playoffs. KAT is considerably cheaper on FanDuel, making the decision easier over there. If you have the extra $500 to make Jokic work on DK, go for it – as he has been racking up gaudy statlines lately.
Jarrett Allen (BKN) and Aron Baynes (BOS) are two cheap tournament picks. Allen has been sneaky good over his past three games, and he’s facing a Boston team that may turn to its bench without anything to play for (locked up second seed). Baynes doesn’t have much upside, but the great matchup vs BKN could help him post an efficient 20 FP for value.
