Jason’s Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
Tyreke Evans – Tyreke Evans is a great option tonight at the guard positions. In his last game, he “struggled,” which basically means that he didn’t hit 40 fantasy points. Instead, he posted 37.75 fantasy points. In the six games prior to that, he posted over 40 fantasy points, posting over 50 fantasy points twice and 60 fantasy points once. There is simply no reason to avoid Evans tonight. He is going to hit value, since his price tag is still a little bit too low.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Tyreke Evans can be rostered in all leagues.
Goran Dragic – Goran Dragic isn’t exactly a value option at the guard position, but his price tag is right around mid-ranged, which is too low for his talent level. In his last two games, he has 48 and 51.25 fantasy points. He is not as consistent as most fantasy owners would like, but that is why tournament leagues are a thing. Roster Dragic in all tournaments, and he can even be used in a pinch in 50/50 contests.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I love Dragic in tournaments tonight.
Kawhi Leonard – This is really simple. Kawhi Leonard is expected to see over 30 minutes tonight against the Phoenix Suns. He posted just under 50 fantasy points in his last game, and as long as he sees 30 plus minutes, he is going to easily hit value. He is one of the best fantasy options in the league, and he is way underpriced right now due to the injury that he is returning from. Leonard is about as close to a must play as possible tonight.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I don’t mind Leonard, but against the Suns with Pop as the coach? I’m a little bit hesitant.
Wesley Matthews – Wesley Matthews is a great tournament option tonight against the Chicago Bulls. He has over 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and over 30 fantasy points in two of those contests. The Dallas Mavericks are allowing Matthews to play big minutes, and he contributes in most stat categories. His usage rate is pathetic, so the team does not like when the ball is in his hands, but he finds ways to produce without it.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Wesley Matthews just isn’t all that interesting for me tonight.
Joel Embiid – The Detroit Pistons are one of the worst teams in the league against opposing centers, as Andre Drummond is great at rebounding and blocking shots, but he struggles to stop big men from scoring. Joel Embiid is one of the best big men in the league. He has over 50 fantasy points in five of his last seven games. The Philadelphia 76ers are resting him quite consistently, so his production level is never really going to drop. It must be frustrating to own him in season-long leagues, but daily leagues are another story. Roster him.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I agree. Roster him.
Mason Plumlee – Mason Plumlee is a great tournament option tonight at the center position. He posted over 30 fantasy points in his last game, which was against the Phoenix Suns. Tonight, he gets a much tougher matchup against the Utah Jazz, but he should still be able to produce. His minutes are not consistent at all, so do not roster him in 50/50 contests.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I’ll be avoiding Plumlee tonight.
Justin’s Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
Kris Dunn – Dunn is coming off a rough game, but he is still averaging 16.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 1.0 block, and 1.8 steals per game over the last 10 days. He is a versatile option that comes with tremendous upside. He has also been a consistent option, scoring 35+ DK points in seven of his last nine games. He has also flashed 50+ DK point upside, making him an elite option in a plus matchup tonight.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Kris Dunn is a consistent, and high-upside option tonight. I like it.
Delon Wright – It simply isn’t possible to trust Wright at this point in the season, but he comes with more than enough upside for tournaments. His minutes have been inconsistent, but he has scored 30 and 29 minutes in two of his last three games, scoring 61.25 and 31.25 DK points in those games. He has seemingly been earning more minutes, and Wright has the potential to play either guard position and small forward. It is a way to get him on the court with both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, although Wright has essentially been the leader of the second unit recently. He can be considered as a salary relief option in tournaments.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: I’m not entirely sold on Delon Wright tonight.
T.J. Warren – Warren has seen his price drop tonight because of the matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. While the matchup isn’t ideal, Warren’s current price tag is. Over the last 10 days, he is averaging 23.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. He has scored scored 33+ DK points in eight of his last nine games. He has struggled a bit against the Spurs in two matchups this season, but Warren can be considered in all leagues for his price tonight.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: T.J. Warren is really starting to heat up. Roster him in all leagues.
Ersan Ilyasova – Ilyasova is one of my favorite plays tonight. His price tag has yet to meet his current production. He has scored 30+ DK points in five of his last six games, and he gets a good matchup against the Portland Blazers tonight. In one matchup against Portland this season, Ilyasova scored 13 points with eight rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal. He has been playing extending minutes recently, as well, and Ilyasova can be used in all leagues tonight.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Ersan Ilyasova is a solid option tonight, but he is better suited for tournaments.
Andre Drummond – Drummond has caught fire over his last three games, averaging 17.3 points, 19.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.0 block, and 1.7 steals per game over that span. He has also scored at least 50 DK points in each of those games. He gets a good matchup against the Sixers, who have struggled against centers at times this season. Drummond is also averaging a 14.0/12.5/3.5/1.0/4.5 line in two games against the Sixers this season. He can be considered in all leagues.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Andre Drummond is always one of the night’s best center options.
Marquese Chriss – The Suns entire team is essentially underpriced tonight, but Chriss’ price tag is the most ridiculous. He gets a tough matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, but he is still averaging 13.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game over the last 10 days. He has also scored between 23 and 42 DK points in each of his last six games. Chriss has been locked into bigger minutes recently, and he’s a great option in all leagues tonight.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Marquese Chriss has high upside, but there are better lower-priced options.
