 Jason’s Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks

Guard

Top Play:

Isaiah Thomas – Isaiah Thomas is making a push for MVP, but he will likely fall short. Even so, he has been having a fantastic season, and that is likely going to continue tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are a defeated team, but Thomas will not feel any pity for them. He is going to score early and often in an effort to pick up the easy win. Roster him in all leagues.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Thomas is a great way to spend some money.

Value Play:

Shabazz Napier – Shabazz Napier is going to play around 30 minutes tonight for the Portland Trailblazers with both Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum out. Napier is going to have to lead a very uptempo offense. That will result in numerous scoring opportunities, as well as quite a few assists. Napier will easily hit value. Roster him in all leagues.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Napier should be used in all leagues.

Forward

Top Play:

Paul George – There is going to be a ton of leftover money tonight, so why not spend it on Paul George? His price tag is getting up there, but he has been consistently posting around 50 fantasy points per game. In one of his last three games, he actually posted over 70 fantasy points. He is showing off a new kind of upside. That will translate to more money for him when he does depart for the Indiana Pacers.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: George has Durant-like upside tonight.

Value Play:

Channing Frye – The Cleveland Cavaliers are dealing with a few “injuries.” Whether or not these are actually injuries or just rest days is up for debate. Frye is going to benefit. He will see around 30 minutes tonight, and he can get hot from beyond the arc. His upside is there, and he will likely hit value. If he fits nicely into a lineup, do not hesitate.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Frye is a solid option in all leagues.

Center

Top play:

Rudy Gobert – Rudy Gobert has great upside. His price tag is a little bit too high, but if any fantasy owners have leftover money, spend it on him. He can score over 50 fantasy points rather easily, and the Golden State Warriors tend to struggle against opposing centers.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I love Gobert, but he is just not all that great of an option tonight.

Value play:

None – All the best center options have been recommended. Pick one.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Correct.

Guard

Top Play:

Chris Paul – Paul’s price tag is ridiculous tonight. He’s averaging 24.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 10.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game over the last 10 days. He has consistently been exceeding value, and he gets a great matchup against the Rockets tonight. James Harden recently had 10 turnovers in a game, which only adds steal potential to CP3. He should be one of the first players inserted into all of your lineups tonight.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Chris Paul is a solid option at the point guard position.

Value Play:

Stanley Johnson – The Pistons are giving their younger players more minutes down the stretch, which makes them great value options. Johnson is averaging 18.6 fantasy points in 29.3 minutes per game over his last three games. These numbers are not going to blow you away, but he’s the minimum price tonight, and will allow you to roster the more expensive players. Johnson can be used in all leagues.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Stanley Johnson should see big minutes. There are couple other solid value options, as well.

Forward

Top Play:

Kevin Durant – Durant comes with a low price tag tonight because of a combination of injury concerns and a bad matchup. He looked healthy in his first game back, though, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds and six assists in 31 minutes of action. Durant will be working himself back into form for the playoffs, and he can be used in all leagues for his current price tag.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Kevin Durant is back. It looks like he never left.

Value Play:

Henry Ellenson – Ellenson was the first round pick for the Pistons last draft, and he’s finally getting to show off why. He has seen extended minutes in his last two games, and he was able to score 23.25 and 32.25 fantasy points in those games. He’s taking a ton of shots for Detroit, and he comes with much more upside than he has displayed. He also gets a matchup against a faster paced Wizards team, and Ellenson can be used in all leagues tonight.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Henry Ellenson is a great option in all leagues.

Center

Top play:

DeAndre Jordan – Jordan is another Clipper that comes with an insane price tag tonight. He has been playing extremely well since Chris Paul returned from injury, and he’s averaging 11.5 points, 16.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game over the last 10 days. He has scored at least 35 fantasy points in each of his last six games, including three games with 40 or more fantasy points. He gets a great matchup against the Rockets, and Jordan can be used in all leagues.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: DeAndre Jordan can be paired with Chris Paul.

Value play:

Boban Marjanovic – Can you tell where I’m getting all of my value from tonight. Marjanovic has played 23 and 28 minutes in his last two games, and he was able to score 29.5 and 46.5 fantasy points in those games. He’s an efficient scorer with elite rebounding potential. He also gets a matchup against a fast paced Wizards team. Marjanovic will see minutes in the 20s tonight, and he’s an elite option in all leagues.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Boban Marjanovic is the best center option on the board.
