Guard

Top Play:

John Wall – John Wall has been playing well all season long, and he can be rostered in both 50/50 contests and tournaments tonight. With over 45 fantasy points in seven consecutive games, it is unlikely that Wall flops. He has over 50 fantasy points in four of his last seven games, as well, posting over 60 fantasy points against the Los Angeles Lakers. Again, roster Wall in all leagues.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Wall is a great option tonight.

Value Play:

Goran Dragic – Goran Dragic has great upside for his price tag. In his last couple of games he has been struggling, posting under 35 fantasy points in four of his last six games. In those other two contests, however, he posted 40.75 and 52.5 fantasy points. Dragic is going to continue to shoot early and often for the Miami Heat. He contributes in other categories, as well. Use the Miami Heat point guard in tournaments, for the most part.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I like Dragic in tournaments.

Forward

Top Play:

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Giannis Antetokounmpo can be rostered at the small forward position, making him one of the better forward options on the board tonight. In his last game, Antetokounmpo posted 58.75 fantasy points. In fact, he has over 50 fantasy points in three of his last four games, posting over 65 fantasy points against the Los Angeles Lakers. He should have no issues tonight against the Utah Jazz.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Alphabet is always an elite option.

Value Play:

Ersan Ilyasova – Ersan Ilyasova is now on the Atlanta Hawks team. He is still expected to play around 30 minutes tonight against the Miami Heat, and if he does, he has the scoring ability to soar over value. Ilyasova has over 20 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He should be able to hit value tonight, but he is not all that consistent, so roster him in tournaments only. He is slightly too risky, especially on a new team, to be rostered in cash games.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I’m going to take a wait and see approach on Ilyasova. I’m not sure he’s going to see big minutes.

Center

Top play:

Hassan Whiteside –  Hassan Whiteside is obviously one of the best center options in the league, as far as fantasy is concerned. He gets a good matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, and he should be able to take advantage of that. In his last game, Whiteside posted over 50 fantasy points. His upside is around 60-70 fantasy points, and his price tag is very reasonable. Roster him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Whiteside has been playing well recently, and he can be used in all leagues.

Value play:

Andrew Bogut – No one is really sure how the Philadelphia 76ers are going to use Andrew Bogut, if at all, but he is currently projected to play around 20 minutes. If he does, he will almost definitely hit value at the minimum price tag. Bogut has great potential, but he is always hurt or in foul trouble. Roster him in tournaments, as his upside is well worth his minimum price tag.

Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Bogut could see minutes tonight because of the lack of other options, but I’m not a huge fan here.

Guard

Top Play:

Russell Westbrook – It’s never a bad idea to use Westbrook, especially after he has had a few days of rest. Westbrook put on a show in the All Star game, scoring 41 points in only 20 minutes. Does that really matter? No, but it keeps his momentum rolling. He has triple-double potential on a nightly basis, and he’s averaging over 70 fantasy points per game against the Lakers this season. He may also see a few extra minutes tonight with Cameron Payne now in Chicago, and Westbrook can be used in all leagues.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Russell Westbrook is always a great option in all leagues.

Value Play:

Jeremy Lin – Lin has only played 13 games this season because of multiple injuries, but he has looked good in those limited games. Over that span, he’s averaging 30.3 fantasy points in only 25 minutes per game, and he’s expected to return to the starting lineup tonight. Lin could be on a minute’s restriction tonight, but as of now, he’s expected to play around 25 minutes tonight. That should be enough time to hit value, and if the Nets announce that he will play at least 25 minutes tonight, he can be used in all leagues.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Jeremy Lin is worth consideration in all leagues, but he is best suited for tournaments.

Forward

Top Play:

Dario Saric – Saric has scored at least 38 fantasy points in each of his last four games, and his emergence is a huge reason as to why the Sixers felt comfortable trading away Nerlens Noel. Saric is expected to move into the starting power forward spot, and he should continue to carry tremendous value while Joel Embiid is injured. Saric has been playing in the paint much more recently, which is another reason as to why his stats have increase substantially. He can be used in all leagues for the Sixers tonight.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Dario Saric will benefit greatly from the Nerlens Noel trade. Roster him in all leagues.

Value Play:

Bobby Portis – The Bulls traded Taj Gibson yesterday, which will result in bigger minutes for Portis. He could enter the starting lineup tonight, which would really boost his value. Portis has flashed elite upside in limited action this season, and he gets a great matchup against a fast paced Suns team. If Portis is announced the starter, he can be used in all leagues. If he is coming off the bench, Portis is best suited for tournaments.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Bobby Portis, like Dario Saric, will benefit from a trade. He can be used in all leagues, even off the bench.

Center

Top play:

Brook Lopez – The trade deadline has passed, and BroLo is still in Brooklyn. That is good for his value, as of now, as he has played at least 30 minutes in nine of his last 10 games. He’s coming off a ridiculous 63.5 fantasy point performance against the Bucks, and he gets a great matchup against the Nuggets tonight. Lopez dominated the Nets earlier this season, and he can be used in all leagues for his price tag tonight.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Brook Lopez has been great over his last few games. Roster him in all leagues.

Value play:

Jahlil Okafor – Okafor will be locked into big minutes tonight because there is simply no one else on the roster to take his minutes. Andrew Bogut could potentially play a few minutes, while Richaun Holmes will also likely play around 20 minutes tonight. That still leaves plenty of time for Okafor to score fantasy points. He gets a good matchup against the Wizards tonight, and Okafor is averaging 33.5 fantasy points per game against them this season. He can be used in all leagues.

Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Jahlil Okafor looks like he is going to be staying in Philadelphia for the time being. Roster him in tournaments.
