.Jason’s Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
Isaiah Thomas – There are quite a few solid guard options on the board tonight – including both Kyle Lowry and Jeff Teague – but Isaiah Thomas is the best. In his last game, he posted 60 fantasy points in 37 minutes against the Miami Heat, and he has over 50 fantasy points in three of his last five games. His upside is great, and his price tag is very reasonable. The Utah Jazz are a slower-paced offense, which should hinder IT2 a little bit, but their defense is not very solid. Use Thomas in all leagues, especially tournaments.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Thomas is an elite option on this slate.
Nick Young – Nick Young has been playing too well of recent for the Los Angeles Lakers to pass on him in 50/50 contests or tournaments. In his last game, which was against the Toronto Raptors, he posted 35 fantasy points in 30 minutes. He is going to continue to play around 30 minutes per game, and he has over 25 fantasy points in five of his last seven outings. His price tag is still very low, and he is one of the best salary relief options on the board tonight.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I’m a big fan of Young in all leagues tonight.
Our FanDuel Cheat Sheet is hitting at 70% on 50/50’s!
Joel Embiid – It looks like Joel Embiid is really starting to settle into his role with the Philadelphia 76ers, posting over 40 fantasy points in three straight games now. He is playing 28 minutes per game rather religiously, and that is expected to continue for quite some time. He will eventually get a minutes bump, but not right now. Tonight, he plays the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team that loves to push the pace of games. That should help his overall production level, and 50 plus fantasy points is not out of the question.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Embiid has been on fire, and he’s a great play tonight.
Wilson Chandler – Wilson Chandler is playing huge minutes for the Denver Nuggets this season, and he has the ability to crush value at his current price tag on DraftKings. In his last game, he posted 35 fantasy points in 37 minutes against the Golden State Warriors. He has over 30 fantasy points in three of his last five games. Chandler is a little bit inconsistent, even with his big minutes, so roster him in tournaments only tonight against the Sacramento Kings, a team that struggles to defend any position.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I like Chandler in tournaments.
Nikola Jokic – Nikola Jokic needs to be rostered in every single lineup. In his last four games, he has at least 45 fantasy points in three of them. Against the Los Angeles Clippers, he posted 50 fantasy points in 32 minutes. Against the Golden State Warriors, he got into foul trouble, but still posted over 45 fantasy points in 25 minutes on the court. This kid has tons of talent. He is going to quickly become a superstar, as long as he figures out how to play without fouling.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: Jokic is my favorite tournament option at center tonight.
Alex Len – Alen Len is a rather risky option at the center position tonight, but he is worth consideration in tournaments. In his last game, he posted over 20 fantasy points in 20 minutes on the court. He is only going to play around 20 minutes tonight against the Miami Heat, but the Heat are horrendous against opposing centers. Len is very cheap, and 20 plus fantasy points is over value for his price tag. That is definitely achievable. Use him as a salary relief option in tournaments only.
Justin’s Rapid Reaction: I’m not a huge fan of Len.
Justin’s Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
Kyle Lowry – Lowry has been a man on a mission recently. He’s averaging 31.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game over the last 10 days. He saw his price tag drop tonight because of the matchup against the Spurs, but San Antonio has struggled against the point guard this season. Lowry is a huge part of the Raptors offense, and he has been playing more than well enough to be used in all leagues.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Kyle Lowry is the best cash game point guard on the board tonight.
Jeff Teague – Teague isn’t exactly cheap, but he certainly is a value play tonight. He has scored at least 40 fantasy points in seven of his last nine games. The two games that he did not score 40 or more fantasy points were tough games, in which Teague played less than 30 minutes. He still comes with a moderate price tag tonight, and he can be used in all leagues.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Jeff Teague has been great of recent. Use him in all leagues.
Tobias Harris – Harris was recently moved to the bench to take on a new sixth man role, and he has looked outstanding since moving there. He’s averaging 37.4 fantasy points per game in his first four games as a sixth man, and it has also helped his usage rating. He’s a player that can contribute in multiple categories, and he will be locked into big minutes again tonight. Harris’ price will be on the rise soon, as he is still fairly cheap tonight, and he can safely be used in all leagues.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Tobias Harris seems to be settling into his new role nicely. Use him in all leagues.
James Johnson – Johnson is currently questionable, along with the entire Miami team. He has been on fire recently, though, as he’s averaging 32.3 fantasy points per game over his last seven games. He doesn’t always play big minutes for the Heat, but he also doesn’t need big minutes to exceed value. If multiple players are ruled out for Miami tonight, Johnson will make a great option in all leagues.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: This is contingent on a few other things happening. I’ll wait and see here.
Rudy Gobert – Gobert has been a consistent double-double this season, which is great for his consistency. He isn’t a huge part of the offense, but he doesn’t have to be because he takes such high percentage shots. He also comes with elite blocking potential, and he gets a decent matchup against the Celtics tonight. Gobert should be in line for another double-double with a few peripheral stats tonight, and he can be used in all leagues.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Rudy Gobert is always a great option at the center position.
Pau Gasol – Gasol has had his ups and downs this season, but he’s averaging over 30 fantasy points per game over the last 10 days. He’s a great player when given the minutes, but he doesn’t always see those minutes. Regardless, he’s still fairly cheap, and he gets an elite matchup against the Raptors. Gasol is a solid option in all leagues, especially cash games tonight.
Jason’s Rapid Reaction: Pau Gasol is playing well enough to be used in all leagues right now. However, he still worries me a little.
