Five Most Underrated Jokesters in the NBA

posted by Will

By: Will O’Hearn

Sure we all know about Metta World Peace, JaVale McGee, & Tony Allen but who’s about to break out next season as a premier prankster?
#5. Landry Fields- He may have had a bit of a down year on the court compared to his rookie year but Landry is heating up in terms of funniness & that’s why the Raptors really signed him .
#4. Gregg Popovich Brain Trust- After coaching the Spurs successfully for so long, coaching has become seamless for Pop. At this point, he’s starting to just hire comedy writers to help with his jokes, pranks, & interviews instead of legitimate assistant coaches.
#3. Roy Hibbert- You think it would be hard for a 7’2” guy to fly under the radar but Roy Hibbert has done just that. From starring in a “Parks & Recreation” episode to being embarrassed about his conditioning, to having one of the funniest & random twitter account, Roy is sure to continue giving us great stuff to laugh at.
(shoutout to @notoriousmob for his help!)
#2. Mickael Pietrus- Besides waiting for a contract, Mickael is waiting for recognition as NBA funny man. Maybe if you eat some more chicken or beef, Mickael.
Honorable Mention: Jon Brockman- following making it in the NBA, Jon Brockman wanted to make his mark. So naturally, he put together a trick shot video & does his best Wario impersonation in an onesie. Good plan, Jon. Good plan.
Honorable Mention:#2 Jan Vesely  - Maybe Tom Selleck is the poor man’s Burt Reynolds (debatable), but Blake Griffin is the American Jan Vesely?!?! I thought of putting Jan on the list but went with Jon, not Jan. Having that quote sent to me by @ChrisNovermbrino was the final straw. He’s learned lots of ghetto words from his Wizards team mates & airballs his first NBA free throw. Besides, he just got a double-double in summer league as we speak but maybe not the most illustrious one… Okay Jan you’ve earned it on the list.
