Metta World Peace, Lakers – I know he has been talked about in this space before, but Mr. Peace’s play of late deserves another mention.  Like teammate Matt Barnes, he’s been sizzling over the last week with averages 17, 5 and 3 with nearly 3 steals and 2 threes thrown in for good measure.  He can fall off or go nuts at anytime, but is worth playing right now.

Derrick Brown, Bobcats - With Brown, it’s all about the minutes and he’s gotten almost 35 of them over each of his last four games.  He isn’t really great in any category but chips in something in almost all of them, averaging nearly 14 points, 7 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals over the past week while shooting .500 from the field.  Be warned though, not a good free-throw shooter.

Steve Novak, Knicks – Obviously if you made it this far you already know the book on Novak – he hits threes and does nothing else of note.  However last night he hit eight of them so if you are trailing in that category and need a quick shot in the arm in this playoff week, he’s well worth the gamble if his shot is as locked in as it appeared to be.

Bismarck Biyombo, Bobcats – That name is just so fun to write.  Anyhow, Biyombo is only worth an add if you are in need to blocks and boards because those areas are where his strengths lie.  He is getting over 30 minutes a game but has struggled with converting the playing time into offensive production.  Although he is on the Bobcats so you can’t really blame the dude.

C.J. Watson, Bulls – Check the injury report before tipoff, but if Derrick Rose sits out again like he did on Monday night, Watson should make for a great fill-in play.  He had 17 points, 8 assists and 3 threes to kickoff the week and should have no problem duplicating those numbers against the previously mentioned, and awful, Charlotte Bobcats.  Also if for some reason he isn’t owned in your league, get Nate Robinson.
